Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) recently held two engagement sessions with Masjid India stakeholders to provide updates on remedial work following last month’s sinkhole incidents.
One key issue was the closure of a 160-meter stretch of Jalan Masjid India for utility and soil structure inspections.
During the sessions on September 5, DBKL presented a site plan, including the installation of hoarding, which began the next day.
Ongoing repairs to the manhole at the incident site are progressing, while soil inspections near the police beat base are set to start soon.
DBKL also proposed a new layout for the Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman night market and discussed relocating vendors.
Stakeholders requested more space for Friday prayers and asked for promotional support to attract visitors to the area.
