SunTactics sCharger 8 Solar Charger vs Anker 14W Solar Charger --- In this video, I quickly demonstrate the speed of charging a 6,600 mAh portable USB battery pack in a 1 hour time period under overcast conditions in November. I compare Anker's 14W solar charger to the SunTactics 8W solar charger and it turns out that the SunTactics sCharger-8 powers at 1.6A (1,600mA) and the Anker 14W solar charger even though it is rated at 14 watts, to my surprise, it was charging the battery pack slower than the 8 watt SunTactics!
The SunTactics sChsarger-8 is smaller, lighter in weight, constructed to be waterproof, and built WAY MORE solid and durable than the Anker 14W solar charger. (The panel itself is laminated with several layers and the hinge is strong!) The flexable connections in between the panels on the hinge are made of some kind of DuPont material that designed to withstand bending and flexing. The SunTactics sCharger-8 comes with 2 USB ports; A MANUAL (M) port and an AUTOMATIC (A) port. The Automatic port will reset itself if a cloud passes over the solar charger or a shadow passes over the solar charger so that devices like Apple iOS can continue to charge without having to unplug/plug the cable into the solar charger. The Manual port is continuous and has no reset feature. This port is good for portable battery packs. Both ports can be used for charging at the same time. Both ports show a green LED light when the solar panel is folded open. Just a very small amount of sunlight is needed to activate the green LED's.
SunTactics sCharger-8 is built, manufactured and made in the USA. It is water resistant (virtually waterproof in my opinion) and comes with a 5 year warranty.
