Disposition of the rebuilt Merchant Navy locomotives: 11 preserved; remainder scrapped
35011 General Steam Navigation is under restoration and will be restored to its original condition with the air-smoothed casings.
The two Merchant Navy locomotives that were withdrawn from service in February of 1964 were the second prototype 35002 Union Castle and 35015 Rotterdam Lloyd.
35028 Clan Line was the only Merchant Navy locomotive that was not sent to the Woodham Brothers scrapyards as it was sent straight into preservation upon being withdrawn from service.
