This Atlantic Laser Scanning tutorial illustrates one workflow for registering a point cloud derived from a FARO Focus 3D scanner. The project did not use sphere or checkerboard targets and the video illustrates how to register the pointcloud using the auto registration tools in FARO SCENE.
Once the point cloud is registered, the video goes on to explain how to create a project point cloud, then a clip box to remove unwanted data temporarily.
