Today 14th June full moon day of the 15th day of fourth Buddhist lunar month, known as Saga Dawa Düchen, commemorates the major events of Buddha Śākyamuni’s birth at Lumbini, at the age of 35 attained enlightenment’s at Bodhgaya and also marks the anniversary of parinirvana at Kushinagar.
Few of us from Sonoma attend Saga Dawa Duchen puja at Gyuto Monastery at Richmond. We are so honored to have time and guided tour around the monastery by Thupten Danyo the founder and director of the Gyuto Foundation. We had our own group puja from 2.30 till 3.30. We attend 6-7 prostration program and 7-8 general puja. Vegetarian dinner at Yak and Yeti Restaurant at Napa.
