In a bid to tackle oil theft, and all forms of illegalities in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry, the Akwa Ibom State Command of NSCDC has intensified its operations and arrested three suspected vandals.
Addressing Newsmen in Uyo the State Commandant of NSCDC, Eluwade Eluyemi explained that Men of Anti-vandal Squad at a checkpoint along Calabar-Itu highway apprehended some suspects conveying 180 bags of suspected adulterated automotive Gas Oil Diesel in an open bucket trailer.
The petroleum products were concealed with palm kernel shells to beat security intelligence but luck ran out on them when personnel insisted on due diligence which led to the discovery.
