The Fort Lauderdale Police Department (FLPD) is working in conjunction with the Florida
Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), which is the lead agency investigating an officerinvolved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at approximately 11:49 a.m.
This incident occurred in the 300 block of SW 25th Avenue in the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Preliminary investigation revealed that FLPD received a total of four calls for service from family
members reporting a 21-year-old male experiencing a mental health crisis. The male has been
identified as Jalen Moore, B/M, DOB 02/17/2002, a resident of Fort Lauderdale
