Dekay's snakes, or brown snakes, are some of the smallest snakes commonly found throughout the eastern side of North America. Ranging all the way from Canada down into Florida, this snake is known for its placid temperament, small size, and ability to live in very developed areas, which is very rare for snakes. Their ability to burrow, eat small garden bugs, and hide in between the cracks in concrete has made their survival almost assured.
