When figuring out where to go in Bali as weird as it may sound make sure you don't miss the toll road. I never thought I'd describe a toll road as cool but it's like a motorway on water and such a sprawling mass of roads as there are multiple routes you can take (not to mention separate roads for cars and bikes) all above the sea; it's quite incredible. And the view is beautiful. The road will take you from near the airport to Nusa Dua or to out near Serangan/Denpasar/Sanur. Check out this short clip to see why I think it's so cool.
