Four paramilitary policemen and one civilian were killed in Peshawar today when suicide bombers wearing paramilitary police uniforms attacked the office of a senior Pakistani official.
The attack occurred when tribal officials and members of political parties had gathered at the compound of top political official Muttahirzeb Khan for talks. One bomber was able to enter Khan's office and detonate his bomb after firing at paramilitary police stationed by the main door. The second gunman blew himself up after a 20-minute firefight with the police.
Officials said the gunmen had staged the attack with the goal of freeing prisoners brought to the Khan's office. According to Reuters, there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. SOURCE: Reuters, The News
