Life for the Toyota Avensis has become harder in recent times with the arrival of the new Ford Mondeo and Volkswagen Passat, as well as the Mazda 6. That's quite a rollcall of fine cars considering that the conventional family saloon class in which the Avensis sits is shrinking as buyers switch to the new generation of SUVs, such as the Nissan Qashqai. However, if you like the idea of a traditional saloon car with a boot, (there's an Avensis estate, too), then the Toyota Avensis should be on your list of options. A thorough revision to the look and interior was put in place in summer 2015, so Toyota is trying hard to remain on form against some very competitive cars.
