Read below for full description! Kirby Vacuums can cost anywhere from $100-$2000.
Kirbys are engineered to last for at least 30 years.
It makes sense to learn how to maintain it and try to make it last a lifetime. In this video, my Mom (Cari) will demonstrate how to change a belt on a Kirby Vacuum. During the video you will also see how to change the brush roller, remove the rug plate, detach the nozzle, reattach all parts removed, and hear a few cleaning tips with a bit of vacuum maintenance. The specific Kirby in the video is a Sentria model G10D 120V. Most Kirby models operate similarly.
I highly recommend a Kirby Vacuum. My family has owned many different types over the last 30 years and have loved all of them. They are heavier to carry than most vacuums, but not to push or pull, because they have a power drive transmission that drives for you. It's awesome for so many other reasons too. They're made in the USA for over 100 years! That's a strong company. They're also really easy to work on and DIY to take care of. I've learned that as long as you can maintain it properly, by changing bags on time, changing belts when it's needed, and don't suck up things you shouldn't (metals or bigger objects), and put your deck level at the right height, then it can last you a lifetime. They're sustainable and worth the initial investment. You can buy parts on Ebay, Amazon, goodvac.com. or at most local vacuum stores.
Kirby TIPS:
1. Put it in Neutral with the deck level all the way down on hard surfaces.
2. Put it in Drive on carpet and adjust deck level accordingly.
3. Don't use on wet areas, unless shampooer is attached.
4. Don't run over your cord while vacuuming.
5. Pick up visible objects before vacuuming.
6. Change the bag at the fill line.
7. Make sure it's unplugged anytime you take it apart.
8. Never leave your vacuum sit still when it's on.
9. If it stops working, learn to troubleshoot the problem and not throw it away. It could be a cheap and easy fix. Check out Kirby Lifetime Rebuild Program. [ Ссылка ]
10. Clean the brush roller as often as needed.
