Manipur women staged protests at Leimakhong Army Camp on Saturday, demanding the safe return of Laishram Kamalbabu Singh, who has been missing since November 25. A resident of Loitang Khunoy in the Sekmai assembly constituency, Kamalbabu disappeared while working at the 57th Mountain Division in Leimakhong.Despite joint search efforts by the army and police, his whereabouts remain unknown. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has urged the army to intensify efforts to locate the 56-year-old.The protest unfolds amid ongoing ethnic violence between the Meiteis and Kuki-Zo groups,which has claimed over 250 lives and displaced thousands since May 2023.
