Eric Rosengren, President of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank, addressed the Chamber on August 12th. Five take-aways worth highlighting: 1) economic recovering is stronger where there is more control of the pandemic 2) Mass. doing a better job than other parts of the country because we have done a better job addressing outbreaks. 3) regions and local economies that were weak prior to the shutdown will have a slower recover but 4) the success of individual businesses may be determined by adaptability to change more than their initial strength and 5) saving businesses is critical in order to get people back to work. It is easier to recover from business losses than lost businesses.
