Sure it's subjective, but let's count down the top 25 Matchbox cars of the basic range for 2021. Steve and I have been peg-hunting Matchbox mainline cars all year and found nearly all 100 models including the first-ever Super Chase (a 2020 Chevy Corvette C8), a Ford Bronco, Tesla Roadster, McLaren 720S Spider, Bugatti Divo, Land Rover Defender 90, Subaru Forester, and more! If I lay them all out on a table I can start to get an idea of which ones are my favorites for the year. Matchbox has almost completely removed "original" or "fantasy" models from the line. Even what we call peg-warmers today are generally unlicensed but based on real-world vehicles. So there are just more and more great models to own. There's something to be said about the Hot Wheels vs. Matchbox argument and for me, I appreciate the real-world vehicles, decos, and liveries that are showcased in this countdown.
