The Verkehrshaus (Swiss museum of transport) in Lucerne contains an extensive collection of things that move. From gondolas to airplanes, they have it all. The airplane you see in this video is special. It is a present from Rega (Swiss Air-Ambulance; German: Schweizerische Rettungsflugwacht) to the Verkehrshaus. This airplane served Switzerland 16 years before being retired. Rega has replaced it with new, more sophisticated airplanes. The airplane was delivered to the museum by ship transport over the lake Lucerne from Alpnach, where there is an army airport, to the eastern part of Lucerne where the Verkehrshaus is located.
You can even see the transport marks in the grass in front of the Verkehrshaus if you look carefully.
Rega is a private, non-profit foundation. It does not receive support from the state and is thus free to rescue people without accessing fault, guilt, or innocence. The organization uses state-of-the-art equipment (as you can see in this video) and is recognized for its competent workforce. Because Rega is a private foundation, it is funded by donors. As a result, Rega has the ability to waive the costs of rescues that would fall on patients. People rescued by Rega are very grateful their services and often speak out in support.
