From an episode (not sure which one nor the year :( ) of the 1966-1969 version of Tonight at the London Palladium, known as The London Palladium Show, coming from today's (2 January 2023) airing on Virgin Media Three in Ireland (yes this aired at midnight).
WOW. I was aware Virgin aired some rare stuff, but most of that is mainly made for TV movies. This is a variety show from the 60s airing here which I was not expecting to see on Virgin. And what's best of all is, the original ATV London ident at the beginning is kept in all its glory.
This show had a revival from 2014-2017 with Bradley Walsh as the host, and as the synopsis was saying it was from that era those were the episodes I was expecting Virgin to air, but got surprised when I saw they were airing the ATV era episodes as most of the older stuff that Virgin airs are 90s-00s shows like A Touch of Frost, Heartbeat, etc, so I had no idea they were ever gonna air this. A 1974 episode (which will be uploaded next) aired first and after I saw another episode about to air (which again used a synopsis from a 2010s episode) I instantly recorded hoping I'd see this logo. And sure enough, here it is in all its glory. What a great way to start this year!
This is my very first time seeing this logo on TV and I never thought it would be on Virgin I would've seen it. This did air on Talking Pictures TV in 2020 but I missed those episodes when they aired.
This ATV logo is also marked as "extinct" on AVID (which obviously isn't true as it was seen on TPTV in 2020), and I am proud to say I believe this is probably my second rarest find on Virgin, first being those Granada Entertainment logos I found.
