Chitra Purnima : Full Moon of Creation and Manifestation

Chitra Purnima is an annual festival celebrating the first Full Moon after the Sun has entered Aries in the Tamil month called Chitra. This is the first Full Moon after the start of the Vedic New Year in mid-April. Chitra Purnima is filled with energies of creation and manifestation.
During Chitra Purnima, the Sun is exalted or most strong in Aries while the Moon is in a bright star called Chitra. The brilliance of the Moon in Chitra with the power of the Sun in Aries can energize our souls and empower us to rewrite our destiny.
According to mythotherapy, there is a divine accountant or record keeper called Chitragupta. He is considered a lieutenant of the archetype of justice and dharma.

His job is to keep careful track of everyone’s deeds in a heavenly database known as the Akashic Records. We each have a personal logbook in that database.
The Full Moon of Chitra Purnima is the best day to connect with Chitragupta and participate in charitable deeds such as feeding the hungry and helping the needy in some way. With Chitragupta’s blessings, we can wipe out some of our negative karma in the Akashic Records on Chitra Purnima and literally re-write our destiny.
