At just 19 years old, Mia Emmenegger is one of the rising stars of the sport, playing at the highest level for Vipers Kristiansand and writing history with Switzerland’s national team. The young player made her debut for Switzerland at 16 and soon after participated in the first ever European Championship, in 2022. Mia showed off her skills on the court and stole the spotlight by scoring 17 goals for Switzerland in the preliminary round, the most out of all her teammates. Now, with a little more experience under her belt, Mia is preparing for the Women’s EHF EURO 2024, where the talented right wing and her team hope to get an extra boost from playing in front of their own fans, as the country co-hosts the tournament alongside Austria and Hungary. The Swiss player is the star of the latest documentary in our “Handball Dieries” series, where she gets candid about the pressure and excitement of representing her country at such a young age.
