Train your Core!
A Weak core and or lack of knowledge on how important building your power up (QUICKLY) is one of the biggest issues I see holding beginners back from learning this amazingly fun skill.
I see so much TIME and GRIP strength is wasted with weak swing power built up slowly by the uninformed athlete. By the time they are ready to throw the bar, they slip off or do not have the strength to catch the other side. Either that or they get more rips in their hands from all the friction and they take forever to get through the course.
Don't be that Ninja - learn how to build your swing power in 1-2 swings. Stop doing 5+ swings for any type of laches - that's too many.
I have seen results in my students in 1 session.
Literally having them perform hanging knee raises before laches fires up their neuromuscular system and they start increasing their swing power after 1 set.
