Mr. K. Vijay Kumar retired IPS officer who served as the Chief of Special Taskforce of Tamil Nadu - the unit behind the encounter of the brigand Veerappan (which is known as Operation Cocoon), talked about the ways in which police force managed the operation without appropriate resources. Mr. K Vijay Kumar is a retired IPS officer. He served as the Chief of the Special Task Force of Tamil Nadu, the unit behind the valiant encounter of the infamous bandit - Veerappan, in Operation Cocoon, 2004.

Mr. Kumar also served in the elite Special Protection Group (SPG) with the former Prime Minister during the years, 1985-1990.
