Mysterious UFO confession from former NASA astronaut: It wasn't visible on radar
Leroy Chiao, a former NASA astronaut, announced that he saw two metallic sphere-shaped UFOs while flying over Texas at the end of August. Chiao said, "These objects were not visible on radar. Air traffic control didn't warn me and they weren't on my screen showing other aircraft communicating with FAA-mandated transponders. I don't know what they are." The former astronaut also thinks that the UFOs that have been frequently reported this year could be a secret US military technology. It was claimed that a mayor said, "There were two car-sized UFOs over my house." at a secret UFO meeting held in the US.
A former NASA astronaut admitted that he saw "two metallic sphere-shaped objects" passing near his plane while flying over Texas at the end of August.
Leroy Chiao, who served as commander of the 10th Expedition to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2004-2005, said the objects passed to the left of his plane while he was flying at an altitude of 9,000 feet.
Chiao said one of the objects was flying above the other and each was about 3 feet (90 cm) in diameter.
"They almost hit each other, and I was lucky enough to escape. If they had hit, it would have been bad. It happened so fast that he didn't even have a chance to be scared," Chiao said.
The former NASA astronaut estimates the spheres came within only 20 feet (6 meters) of his plane.
"THEY DIDN'T SEE IT ON THE RADAR, THEY DIDN'T WARN ME"
Chiao, who now works as an engineering consultant and entrepreneur, told NewsNation that the metallic spheres were undetectable.
"They weren't on radar. Air traffic control didn't alert me, and they weren't on my screen, which showed other aircraft communicating with FAA-mandated transponders. I don't know what they were," Chiao said.
MYSTERIOUS UFOS CAN HAVE TERRIFYING CONSEQUENCES
"I got a good look at them, but only for a second. I was flying back from Colorado and I was flying my little plane to Houston after refueling in northern Texas. I was flying under flight rules, which is a more formal flight plan coordinated with FAA air traffic control," Chiao said.
But looking back, Chiao said he still thinks these global UFOs are "mysterious" and that the government's lack of transparency regarding such unknown drones could have "terrifying" consequences.
COVERT MILITARY TECHNOLOGY OF THE US
"They can share what they know with us. If they really don't know, that's a little bit more worrying," Chiao said.
Citizens, police and politicians have opened up to debate who or what is behind these latest UFO reports, with theories ranging from mass hysteria to foreign spies or aliens.
Chiao, however, thinks it could be a covert military technology of the US.
"My first guess is that it's some kind of military program, a drone. But it's hard to say for sure, right? Frankly, I don't think the person who was operating the drone was aware that I was there," the former NASA astronaut said.
MYSTERIOUS UFO WAVE IN THE US
Chiao, who encountered an interesting but completely otherworldly "UFO" incident during his time on the ISS, said he is personally concerned about some worst-case scenarios regarding the mysterious UFO wave in the US in late 2024.
"It's a very mysterious situation. It's hard to believe that our government doesn't really know what's going on. At first glance, it seems to me that this is some kind of military program, a program of our military. If it's not, then it becomes a little more frightening," the former NASA astronaut said.
RECENT UFO REPORTS IN THE U.S. ARE WORRIED
Chiao said the UFO reports in New Jersey and surrounding states last month, as well as the incidents at U.S. military bases both domestically and internationally, are too widespread and too organized to be a joke.
RECORDINGS OF SECRET UFO MEETING LEAK
Belleville, New Jersey Mayor Michael Melham also criticized the federal government's explanations for the UFO mystery, calling their responses "disappointing, to say the least."
"A lot of the mayors from northern NJ drove almost three hours in total to get there on short notice. But they heard things that could have been easily explained over Zoom. Many of them walked out of the meeting," Melham explained.
Journalist and author Michael Shellenberger, who testified to Congress last month about a secret program that collected UFO data, obtained a recording of the meeting.
In the recording, a New Jersey mayor can be heard complaining about SUV-sized drones.
