Police in Mombasa have arrested two suspects in connection with theft of 500 bags of sugar worth Sh2 million.
The suspects allegedly drugged the truck driver and turn boy before driving the truck to a secret location off Mombasa-Nairobi highway and offloaded the sugar The incident took place between Mazeras and Mariakani.
Coast regional CID boss Pius Macharia said the suspects then transported the commodity to Kiembeni estate in Mombasa where they started transferring the sugar to new bags.
He said the truck owner found the driver and the turn boy unconscious on Thursday and took them to hospital.
