The Persian king Cambyses requested the Egyptian pharaoh Amasis to send him his best eye doctor.
The physician chosen by Amasis resented the forced labor he had to do miles away from his family.
Upon reaching Persia, the doctor got his revenge by advising Cambyses to ask the pharaoh for his favorite daughter as a gift.
Amasis was unwilling to send his beloved daughter to Persia as a mere concubine,
but also wanted to avoid offending the Persian empire which was at its peak.
Instead, he sent the daughter of the former pharaoh claiming that she was his.
The former Egyptian princess was no more pleased than the doctor,
and once greeted by Cambyses, she told of the pharaoh's trickery.
The Persian king was furious at this insult.
He invaded Egypt and defeated the pharaoh.
