Hello friends,

In this video I would like to share with you some techniques that museum and gallery curators use to organise their collections.

The famous V&A museum here in London has 2.2 million different historical objects in their collection and only 3% of those are on display.

The rest are carefully organised, labeled, preserved, and stored for us.

How do museum curators manage such a vast amount of historical pieces?

There are three simple techniques that were described in Glenn Adamson's great article for Aeon (linked down below).

1. Buy with confidence
2. Dynamic storage: Passive and Active
3. Create an exhibition

I explore each of those tips in detail in this video.

I believe that we should be glad to live in the age where we have access to every book or piece of knowledge instantly. This type excess is in many cases beneficial, if we can learn how to organise it for ourselves.
