This week Plant lovers a flowering specimen plant I bought at a recent plant sale day of my local orchid group! I have made a video about the other plants I bought which I'll publish in a few weeks, but I wanted to show this baby first! Gomesa flexuosa - a Dancing Lady type of orchid. Now this is a species orchid and one of those the name of which oscillates between Oncidium and Gomesa but at the moment Kew is calling it a Gomesa and to be honest....I don't care about that! The thing is I have a hybrid called Oncidium Sweet Sugar which has this as one of its ancestor parents and which also resolutely REFUSES to bloom! And I also have the species Oncidium sphacelatum, another one of the species ancestors of Sweet Sugar which regularly blooms in winter with almost NO care whatsoever! So I've cheated and bought this flowering specimen to make myself feel better...lets take a look!
