In this video, we look at how to use the amazing Unpivot data feature of Power Query in Excel.

This is one of the most useful transformations available to us when cleaning messy data.

In this video, we see a simple example of Unpivot data in action to turn a beautiful, but rather useless data set, into something we can use for further analysis.

Excel wants data in a tabular manner so that we can easily analyse it with PivotTables and formulas.

When we receive data in a finished PivotTable or crosstab form, it can be difficult to work within Excel. Thankfully, Unpivot data makes this transformation a breeze.
