How much fat is injected into the face during Fat Transfer, and will more fat get better results? Dr. Solomon answers...
"Yeah, so that comes with experience, depending on how deflated is the face and how much volume loss you have. The other thing, too, is a lot of people think that if you put more fat, then you get better results, especially if you're going to lose some of half the fat, or a certain percentage of fat. When we transfer fat to the face, we put them in micro-droplets, in very very small droplets. We do something called, nanograft, or small grafts, where we put these small fat cells in there in droplet form. If you put too much, and put big globules of fat in there, then it's guaranteed that this fat cell's going to die, it's not going to survive. And, the way we put that is also unique, because you have to put it in different levels of the face. You have to put some under the muscle, you have to put some inside the muscle, some above the muscle, at different levels. If you put them all in there, they all compete for the same blood supply, and if they don't establish a blood supply then they're going to die. So that's why you put small droplets of fat, in order for it to survive."
