Tennis elbow is a common condition that occurs due to overuse of the extensor tendons in the arm, which can lead to pain in the lateral aspect of the elbow. To determine if you have tennis elbow, you can hold your arm out straight and press down on your middle finger. To treat tennis elbow, it is important to do extensor exercises, such as stretching with a rubber band or practicing opening and closing your hand in a bucket of rice. Athletic tape can also be used to support the area below the bump on the lateral aspect of the elbow, and deep transverse friction massage can be used to treat the tendon. It's important to progressively decrease the use of the tape over time and focus on the extensor exercises.
