We return back to Northern Desert to see what secrets the quicksand has and that a Time Gear might be there. Quicksand Cave has a lot of Rock and Ground type Pokémon, and it has some more tough opponents than Northern Desert.

Quicksand Cave has many Ground and Rock types, and they do not take damage from the Sandstorm. The Pokémon in this dungeon are Sandslash, Nincada, Vibrava, Pupitar, Skorupi and Mawile, and the Quicksand Cave Pit has Tyranitar, Hippopotas and Ninjask. These Pokémon are tough, Sandslash has Sand Veil, and it can be annoying to deal with in a Sandstorm, as both Tyranitar and Hippopotas have Sand Stream. Tyranitar is a tough opponent as it has powerful moves like Rock Slide, Dark Pulse and the Elemental Fangs. At the end of the dungeon, we will have to fight Mesprit, and it is not a difficult battle if you have brought a Bug or Dark type with you. Mesprit has Confusion, which can deal a lot against Fighting and Poison types, if you have recruited a Skorupi, its Pin Missile should help against Mesprit. Mawile and Hippopotas get Bite, or if you are lucky enough to recruit a Tyranitar, which is very unlikely at this point in the game, it can help out very well.
