Australian Financial Review Economics Editor John Kehoe says the discussion around negative gearing and capital gains tax is a “side show” to the main issue.

“I think this capital gains tax and negative gearing discussion is really a side show to the main issue, which is trying to build more homes,” Mr Kehoe told Sky News Australia.

Mr Kehoe’s remarks come as the Albanese government could be exploring its options when it comes to possible changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax.
