Scarlet Lady is due for launch in early 2020. She will be the first of three identical ships to debut for the brand new Virgin Voyages brand. Weighing in at 110,000 tons and carrying 2,860 crew the Scarlett Lady will be a mid-sized ship by current standards but the largest adults-only ship in the industry.

Celebrity cruises have had one of the most aggressive ship building programs in the industry recently and Spring of 2020 sees them launching yet another new addition to their well-loved fleet. At 117,000 tons and with 2,900 births Celebrity Apex is the sister ship to the game-changing Celebrity Edge and will feature a number of new-to-cruise features.

2020 will also see the launch of P&O Cruises Iona. Due to set off on her inaugural cruise in the Spring the Iona will weigh in at 180,000 tons making her the biggest-ever ship built specifically for the U.K. market.

2019 saw Saga Cruises launch their first ever new build and the Summer of 2020 will see their second. The Spirit of Adventure will hit the waves in Summer of 2020 and will by modern standards be a small ship at just 55,900 tons and carrying just under 1000 guests. The ship will retain the small ship cruise experience the line is known for, with just 540 cabins, 100 of which will be specifically designed for solo travellers.

The fifth ship in Princess Cruises' Royal Class will launch in June 2020. The Enchanted Princess will be named in Southampton, after which she will embark on a season of Mediterranean cruises.

Carnival Cruises are launching 'The Mardi Gras' in August of 2020. The Mardi Gras hold 5,200-passengers. This will be Carnival cruise ship and is an ode to their first ever cruise ship.

MSC Virtuosa is the second ship for MSC Cruises' Meraviglia Plus Class cruise ships. MSC Virtuosa is slated to launch in September 2020, which is less than a year afer its sister ship, MSC Grandiosa.

Royal Caribbean's second Quantum Ultra Class vessel is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Named the Odyssey of the Seas, she will launch in October 2020 and unlike her sister ship, Spectrum of the Seas, Odyssey will sail from the United States.
