The workforce in the UK is changing fast and businesses need to act now to unlock the opportunities of multigenerational teams. Business in the Community’s Age campaign is raising awareness of the issue and value of age in the workplace.
This is a series of case study videos featuring Stanley Nonis, FCSC, discussing issues around age in the workplace. In this video Stanley explains why he thinks UK business is missing out by not doing more to retain older workers.
By 2020 1 in 3 workers will be over 50, and by 2030 half of all adults in the UK will be over 50. Understanding the challenges and opportunities of an ageing population is vital if we all want to create productive, innovative and inclusive multi-generational teams as we all lead longer working lives.
The BITC age campaign wants businesses to implement mid-life MOTs for their employees. To support you in doing this, we have developed a new toolkit which provides practical advice and insights on pilot activity undertaken by businesses which are adopting forward-thinking policies and practices on age.
