NATO member Slovakia
has donated the first
four MiG-29 jets to Ukraine,
with the rest of the planes
to be delivered in the coming weeks,
its DoM said on March 23
In total, Slovakia said
it would donate 13 of
the Soviet-made fighter jets,
which Kyiv believes are
crucial for its forces to
repel against Russian attacks
Ukrainian President Zelensky
last week told European leaders that
"delays" sending fighter jets and
long-range missiles
could extend the war,
when addressed a EU summit
His ground forces commander
meanwhile said that Russians
were "exhausting themselves" in
their grinding push to take
Bakhmut, giving Kyiv a window of
opportunity for counterstrike
Bakhmut is a site
Moscow considers
a key to taking the whole of
the eastern Donetsk region
