Join our OSM Budapest community meetup as we tackle the challenge of applying the '15-minute city' concept to Budapest-Pesterzsébet, focusing on enhancing sustainable and just urban mobility within large-scale housing estates. Our project, "15minESTATES", seeks to co-create spatial strategies for sustainable and accessible urban mobility. We need your expertise to gather and analyze essential geospatial data that will help us understand the area’s current urban structure, infrastructure availability and mobility options. This collaborative effort will involve gathering geodata, engaging with the community for data collection, and facilitating these data as a basis for modelling and assessing the current mobility situation and impacts of interventions. Based on this, recommendations for urban development in the neighbourhood and general findings for this urban structure type will be derived. Your involvement will be crucial in shaping strategies that address the unique challenges of the neighborhood and improve quality of life for its residents. Whether you're skilled in GIS, passionate about urban planning, or simply interested in community development, your contribution is valuable. Help us redefine urban accessibility in Pesterzsébet by participating in this vital data-driven initiative.
This project is conducted under the Driving Urban Transition (DUT) Partnership, which has been co-funded by the European Comission. Partners From 6 European countries will conduct 5 case studies across Europe. IOER will facilitate the co-creation and urban modelling in an iterative participatory process in the neighbourhoods. In Budapest, this is supported by our local scientific partner Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Urban Planning and Design.
