In 2012, he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro by Pope Benedict XVI. He visited Medjugorje many times. In 2019. he gave us long time expected news about pope Francis approving official pilgrimages to Medjugorje that can ever since be freely organized on parish and diocesan level. Recently, Msgr. Pezzuto celebrated with us here in Medjugorje, his golden jubilee, the 50th anniversary of his priesthood.
