Former chief executive of the Australian Energy Council Matthew Warren says the Sun Cable always seemed like a “fairly risky, fairly adventurous” kind of project.
“And that was because it was attempting to do everything bigger and at a scale that had never been done before,” Mr Warren told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.
Mr Warren's remarks come after the Sun Cable clean energy venture entered into voluntary administration on Wednesday following a clash between two of Australia's richest men.
The $30 billion project aimed to create the world’s largest solar farm in the Northern Territory to power Darwin and export clean energy through the Australia-Asia Powerlink (AA Powerlink).
