How to germinate seeds is a basic skill that will benefit every gardener, no matter how small or large your growing endeavors may be.
Zinnias are a beautiful and popular annual flower that can easily be germinated in vermiculite even by beginners.
There are basically 2 ways to germinate seedlings:
1. plant the individual seeds in the flats or pots, in which you intend to grow them to transplant size or;
2. plant larger quantities of seeds by type, all together in a germination tray to be transplanted into individual cells or pots, after the seeds have become small plants. In both methods, the desired result is one plant in each flat cell or pot.
Each of these methods has pros and cons.
