This is a hymn that summarizes our faith in the Holy Trinity, as it was clearly defined by the 318 Fathers assembled at the Council of Nicea in AD 325. The hymn concludes by declaring that "anathematized is he who questions this teaching". The two leaders of the Council of Nicea were Eustathius of Antioch (Mor Osthathios, the then Patrairch of Antioch) and Athanasios of Alexandra (the then Pope of Alexandria). While Mor Osthathios in his writings gave the number of participants as more than 270 Bishops, Mor Athanasios gives us the precise number of attendees as 318.

Lathhumo d-haymonutho is a tune from the Beth Gazo, and this hymn gets it name from this particular hymn. This hymn is given as the example for Mode 3 for this tune. The most popular hymn in this tone is ܠܝܰܡܳܐ ܕ݂ܼܪ̈ܰܚܡܰܝܟ݁ L-yamo d-rahmayk (translated as കരുണക്കടലേ! ഞാന്‍ നോക്കും by Kaniamparambil Achen and ഏകാത്മജ ദേവാ ഞാൻ നിൻ by Shir C.P Chandy) from the Soothoro of Monday from the Shimo.
