Baja California is a magical place. A sparse and desolate desert landscape, yet rich with life and crystal clear waters, with tons of beach camping and a unique wild wild south culture! Join us as we explore, share some insights, and camping tricks along the way. Our goal is to show you how easy and accessible this kind of vacation is for any nature lovers.

As we drive south towards Baja Sur we have no idea where we will be camping next. Our main goal is to get to Mulege. Mulege is a small town about 30 min south of Santa Rosalia and ~2 hours north of Loreto with a population just short of 4000 and is home to gorgeous beaches stretching across Bahía Concepción. It has a unique environment as it sits on a river delta that meets the bay and so you have this fascinating contrast of lush vegetation with dry desert mountains. The town itself has some interesting attractions like Mission Santa Rosalia de Mulege and Baja Sur Prison Museum (the famous Open Door Prison)

Stretching within 40 min south of Mulege there are incredible beaches including Playa Santispac, Playa Los Cocos, Playa Palapas el Burro,
as well as the super popular Playa el Requeson (to name a few)
We finally settled on Playa El Coyote and it doesn’t disappoint. We stay here for two more nights before we continue south. It is worth mentioning that the water felt like a warm bath even in the middle of the night!!! It was awesome!!!!😍
