Psalm 129
A Song of the Ascents.
1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth—Let | Israel now say:
2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth,
yet they have not pre- | vailed a-gainst me.
3 On my back the | plow-ers plowed;
They | lengthened their furrows.
4 Yahweh is | right-eous;
He has cut in pieces the | cords of • the wicked.
5 May all be put to shame and turned back who | hate Zion,
6 May they be like grass on housetops, which before it | grows, withers;
7 Which does not fill his | palm the reaper,
Nor his | arms • the • sheaf-binder.
8 And may those who pass by not say,“The blessing of | Yahweh • be up-on you;
We bless you in the | Name of Yahweh”!
Glory to the Father, | and to • the Son, And to the | Ho-ly Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is | now, and • ever • shall be, Age after | age. A-men.
