The AXE1 coil is a welcome addition to the Elecraft AX1 portable antenna system. And of course it is equally suitable for the Yaesu FT-817/FT-818 and the ICOM IC-705. Check it out.
One extra test we did was to see if we could achieve resonance on 10MHz. It can be done if you move the AX1 switch to the 17/15m position and adjust the whip so that only four and a half sections of the whip are extended. This makes the whip significantly shorter than on the other bands but it does work.
