Floodwater inundated buildings and farmland after breaching a levee at a water conservancy facility in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Monday.
No casualties have been reported.
Water poured through a 12-meter gap in the broken dike and flooded 173 buildings and 20 hectares of farmland in Wangdian Township of Guangxi.
All 677 affected villagers were evacuated and provided with supplies including food and water, according to local authorities.
The flood also submerged a section of road, along which police subsequently implemented traffic control.
The cause of the dike break is under investigation.
