RESEARCH YOUR NEW AREA
One of Phil Spencer's best advice for moving into a new area is to research your new location thoroughly. You will want to know as much as possible, from neighborhood demographics to the local crime rate.

REVIEW JOB OPPORTUNITIES:
Another aspect of your move you should consider is making sure you're aware of the employment options in your new area. If you're moving to a new area for your present employer, ask about re-location benefits or other assistance they might offer.
ALWAYS SELL BEFORE YOU BUY:
Always sell before you buy in a new area, you want to avoid having to pay for two mortgages or shoulder an expensive bridging loan.
If you can move quickly and can take advantage of a good deal when it turns up, make sure you're prepared.

DON'T RUSH YOUR MOVE:
Relocating is a serious business that shouldn't be rushed. You can buy yourself time by arranging a short term let, 6-month lease or perhaps a year lease with a 6-month break clause.
BE SOCIABLE:
In all the excitement of your recent move, you might not immediately notice one of your biggest losses - your social networks.
Start to build new ones by joining clubs or volunteering. Hopefully, each new introduction leads to another. If you have children, you will naturally meet other parents, but try volunteering at school, helping out at their clubs or coaching their sports teams to expand your network further.
