Recently, our recycling centre employees across the county have received a significant amount of abuse whilst at work. Sadly, this is the case across several Essex County Council service areas. Seven recycling centre staff members have come together to share some of the hurtful comments they have received.
This video highlights the affect that abuse can have on their mental and emotional wellbeing. It contains real employees, recalling real incidents of abuse, and you may find some of the language offensive and upsetting.
We aim to maintain a safe and respectful environment for everyone. We have a zero tolerance approach to bullying, harassment and discrimination. We will investigate all incidents of abuse reported by our staff and appropriate action will be taken.
