It was -1 Degrees Fahrenheit out and I got the great idea to go take a rip on my 85 350X out on the Great Sacandaga Lake here in upstate NY. The winter got off to a slow start, so we've only just been able to get out on the ice. The sky was clear blue... the conditions were fantastic... all except for temperature. I'm thick blooded though, so I figured I'd be fine. Not my first rodeo with cold temps, so let's go have some fun!

Well, my 350X took a while to wake up. It was so stinking cold that she struggled to come to life. I had to bring it in the heated shop... let it warm up, swap a plug, gas it up... and finally she roared to life. Time to ride!

Down on the lake it was gorgeous, clear, and FREEZING! I toured around a little bit and decided the conditions were optimal for a top speed run to see what the old three wheeler would do. I pulled out my GPS speed app and turned it on, and, well, you'll have to watch the video to find out how it went!

This 350X has has a fair amount of work done to it. It's bored 50 over with a 10.25:1 Wiseco piston. It's got a Web Cam 340b high performance cam in it with Kibble White valve springs. I've put a 400EX carburetor on it to help fuel it; and improve starting. And it has a SuperTrapp exhaust on it to help it breath.

Towards the end I rip around the Northampton Campgrounds which are closed for the season. I rode for as long as my face and hands could endure, and then I went on home. The only mishap that occurred during the ride was the fact that my fork boots quit on me... Didn't even give me a 2 week notice... they just bailed. New OEM replacements are on order though!
