My yellow platy has had 2 sets of fry's, I was unprepared when she gave birth to both sets. The first time she gave birth was only a couple of days after I got her so I had no idea she was pregnant and then the second time, I knew she was pregnant but didn't really pay any attention to that, leaving me with two sets of fry (about 17-20 baby's) all in one tank! What I have done is given the baby's to my local fish store and then next time she's pregnant I'm going to use my fish hatchery so it's easy to remove the baby's every time they're born! - eventually after all of the sperm she stored has been used she will no longer be able to have babies meaning I won't have to fuss with the pregnancies anymore!😂🐠❤️
•Platy' can give birth 3-5 times with there stored sperm🐠
•if you don't want your platy to get pregnant again after all of the sperm has been used then make sure to separate her from any male fish that could re-impregnate her!🐠
•check for signs of pregnancy every now and again if you have female fish with male fish!🐠
•make sure you have a plan for the birth and/or after the birth!🐠
