Welcome to today's Trauma-Informed Yin Yoga Therapy class designed to support you in releasing stored emotional energy, grounding your body and mind, and regulating your nervous system through the gentle and nurturing practice of yin yoga. In this session, we focus on the hips, an area where emotional tension and stress can manifest, aiming to release the deepest layers of fascia.
Yin yoga is a slow and mindful practice that encourages you to hold poses for longer durations, allowing your body to gently stretch and access the connective tissues. As a MA level counselor and certified Yin Yoga Therapy instructor, I have intentionally created this class to offer an environment of healing and release, where stored emotional energy can find an outlet. This practice is thoughtfully tailored to be trauma-informed, ensuring a safe and supportive space for everyone.
You will be guided through a sequence of poses that target the hips and, inviting you to listen to your body and find your own edge without pushing beyond your comfort zone. As we hold each pose, you'll have the opportunity to connect with your breath, cultivating a sense of presence and awareness in each moment.
Throughout this practice, we incorporate grounding techniques that help you reconnect with the Earth, fostering a sense of stability and security. I emphasize the use of props and modifications, if necessary, to ensure that you have the tools to make each pose accessible and nurturing.
By delving into the depths of yin yoga, we work to release tension not only from your physical body but also from your emotional and energetic layers. This practice can aid in the gentle unwinding of stress and trauma, promoting a more balanced and regulated nervous system.
