The legendary tactical RPG Fire Emblem had its humble beginnings way back in 1990, more than 25 years ago, telling the tale of loveable Prince Marthipan’s epic adventure. Fast-forward to 2003 and Fire Emblem Blazing Sword was released, singlehandedly revolutionizing gaming with its intricate narrative in which no man can be trusted. In spite of all prior success, very few could predict the future glory of the franchise. The recentest offering, Fire Emblem Fates, gave a new meaning to the word ‘roleplaying’, with its players assuming the role of an incestuous molester. Prof. M. Santangelo, Lacanian psychoanalyst and world’s premiere Proust scholar, had this to say on IntSys’s masterwork: “Fire Emblem Fates is pretty rad. The beauty of its transgression is mesmerizing, and its plot is a very realistic, sombre depiction of the abuse experienced by families in deprived areas of the world.”
