I don't know about you but when I watched Naomi put that helmet on for the last time and jump out of the Chetzemoka, I cried. A lot. Mainly because I had no idea what the heck was going to happen! But when she was ready to accept her fate, it was that moment when Bobby reached her and plugged in that much-needed oxygen that really ruined me. Because I don't Naomi expected to live past those minutes inside her oxygen-deprived spacesuit. She cried, knowing that even after that darkest moment, she would live on. She hadn't just escaped; she had survived.
I absolutely adored Clinton Shorter's theme for Naomi this season, from her jumping out of the airlock of Marco's ship to the emotional scene where she plays Jim her recorded goodbye message.
Here is a small arrangement of that beautiful theme. I added a flute and piano part that echoes the theme of the Expanse towards the end to integrate with this track.
